yeah seasons gone, this crazy meeting that took place today (saturday) with gretzky and lemieux was a joke. did anyone see the little post-wrapup thing on tsn with burke, healy and mckenzie? it was pretty interesting. from what they said, it looks like theres a huge split in the union itself, and that only a minority from the NHLPA's side want to continue the lockout. burke was saying that theres a reason the nhlpa wont let the players vote on the terms currently offered, seemingly because the general concensus is that most of the players would accept the nhl's terms as it is.

fucking unions :|

edit: typos :(

So do i but with linden way out of his prime without a naslund i don't think the canucks have what it takes even with bertuzzi.

especially considering naslund is the leading point getter for the canucks for the last 4 years or so, also without naslund bertuzzi's points will shread.

I highly doubt the canucks can do much without naslund 94points per year average

Here's a question. Unions are democratic untities, the membership has to vote for any serious changes, for example the CBA. So what was the vote count for the last meeting? I have a feeling there wasn't a vote...so some dumb shit play's god and underminds the whole democratic process. BULLSHIT!

^ exactly. As long as goodenow is the head I doubt they even really vote on this stuff. They just say their all for it without even a legitimate vote.

Its a sad state that the union is in. They don't even know it either.

^ So true!

The majority of the NHL players aren't hardcore millionaires, these guys need to work! If there was a vote, they'd by playing! So it's either the few greedy, rich ass players keeping this thing deadlocked...or Bob on a power trip...I think it's both. Lets have a general vote by the PA, for a change! Get Bob out of there and get a real leader! Or go to binding arbitration! <--- I'm surprised this hasen't happened!

yeah its ridiculous, the players as a whole need a say in this, otherwise what's the point of unions? unions were built on the foundation to represent the working (hockey-playing) group as a whole, not as individuals that are easy pickings for employers.

FUCK

Kenjino and I are right..Jagr is czech, and so am I. He is a smart businessman who capitalized on the stupidness of the nhl commissioners and owners of the teams to pay him so much. Even though he was the number-one point scorer like 3 years in a row or something like that, did he really earn his salary? Does any hockey player really EARN their salary? That is the real question behind all of this I should give you suck-ass karma for referring to hockey as gay(but I won't), because it is not. Just say that Bob Goodenow is gay and everything should be okay :D

Jagr was at one time the number one player in the world when mario went down with hodgkins, but i mean look at the support he had on that team. Kevin Stevens, Ron Francis in his prime, bryan trottier.

geez most would be a better playeer with that talent as well.

but ya it all started with Jagr when the NYR took him on their utterly ridiculous system of pay first and hope to get into the playoff's
