2.25 weeks til vacation!

I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it)!

My bf and I are going on a trip to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia in a couple weeks. We've never been overseas together and I think it's going to be fantastic!

If anyone has been to these places and has any travel tips, please divulge!

koa tao in the gulf of thailand was amazing 1.5 years ago. perfect combo of beachlife, nightlife, people , etc.

Thanks Mojo, I'll check that website out. I'm actually only going to Phuket in Thailand...I think...maybe Bangkok.

Geminiz- We're only going for a month! We'll be whizzing around on buses and planes like crazy...but hey, as long as we can see as much as we can. ;)

I needs me s'more Aus or I'd even settle for some Mexico. The little girl I work with is going to Mexico over spring break. She went to Disneyland this past Oct. I think Ima pull a Flat Stanley and just kick back in her passport for a while :y:

screw phuket. its over ridden with tourism and hella expensive.
if flying in in necessary, i suggest flying to koa samui...then you can boat to koh tao and phagnan, and maybe take in a full moon party. you can find seclusion on all three islands too if you like.

just my opnion though.: )

The reason why we're going to Phuket is because we got a super deal! 99RM (that would be less than $35 Canadian) per person for a flight and two nights accommodation!

If I had more time in Thailand, I would definitely go check out the more secluded places. I wish I did! But we'll be spending most of our time in Malaysia.

That book is raaaad! :) Flat Stanley is SO COOL!!! I did some work on it in a school I was working in a couple years ago.

They really should have had that around when we were kiddies. Pfft.

My aunt just told me she's booked and paid for (as a gift!) a flight for us to go to Bali and stay at the Hard Rock Hotel for 5 days!!!

What a grrrrreat aunt!

what are you going for? do u have a specific time in each place? I myself would spend the most time in thailand and from there venture into laos and cambodia maybe see vietnam. you will find that its hella cheap to find buses out of malaysia (i have no idea what the weather is there now but I have heard they shut an entire coast down at times of the year)

phuket should be great for you guys, its a really fun place for couples. see the Simon caberet and muay thai kickboxing there. what beach are you guys at in phuket? nai yang is nice but I heard it was totally wiped out by the tsunami. besides that theres kamala beach and karon which are nice but the parties in patong. oh oh oh if you have time one day please for me go to either raya bay or the similian islands. both these places are just 40 minutes speedboat from phuket and are probably some of the nicest snorkelling areas in thailand besides ko tao.

Matt! Hey buddy! We'll be staying at Patong Beach... I heard it's fun! We're only in Phuket for 3 days though. I don't know if we'll have time to really see Raya Bay or the Similian Islands! I'll keep it in mind though!

We're going there because my family is all in/from Malaysia. That way Kam has a chance to meet my relatives, and we can also benefit from having free accommodation in their houses or from their hookups (which is a plenty). They're all suuuuper rich there...I mean, they have titles n stuff.

And yes, we have a schedule of where we're zipping to and when. I swear, we're not going to get a minutes rest...;) We start in Singapore, then to KL, then to Penang, then to Cameron Highlands, back to KL, on to Phuket, back to KL, then to Bali, on to Melacca, and finally, back to KL. And that's the gist of the plan!

personal yes, we're in maui together right now.

the only reason i say too touristy is because you wont let me leave the touristy area, except that one time when we drove around the island.

but that's all to change today, hopefully, as i lure you upcountry.

BUT i get to go to spain (ibiza) portugal, france and italy in the late spring... and mexico in a month.. im sooo stoked! i have only been on a plane once in ma life.. and it was when i was 12!
