tax returns!

has anyone dealt with hr block? are there rates good? how fast can you get your return?

or if you dealt with another tax company how were they?

are these companies worth it? or shuld i just learn to do it myself?

I personally do it myself on ufile.ca, why pay for something that I can do myself.

I went to them last year.. charged me 60$ for a 600$ return.... not bad IMO consitering they cut you a certified cheque once they verify your T4(s) In most cases I think you go in there one day and pick up your cash money the next day.

My dad sent me to some guy in north van who gave me a wiked deal with how much bs I had with years back of income tax lol Anyways I think I paid an average of $40-$60 on each year (depending how much it was worth) and he found ways to get back even more money such as using my tuision to take money off of my dad's tax instead.

Otherwise I remember a friend of mine at work telling me if you ever need tax done go to H&R Block. She said they did a great job and took care of everything and had gone there for quite some time -sfu student

I always go to H&R! They are cheap and I usually get a cheque that day.

went to H&R block this year, paid like 60$ or so, got 800 back, it was a sweet cheque, cashed it on the spot:P easy proccess too, and you cant really screw up like you can doing it yourself, even though i can, i just hate waiting like 3 weeks for the cheque:) but either way, 800 back is not back!

this is the biggest mistake you will ever make...

doing it yourself you will lose deductions you could have made,
and if you DO make them, you may have done it SLIGHTLY wrong and they will STILL audit you later.. which is jus MORE DEBT to pay off...

i take them to this guy ernie. he does em up right. h&r is good too i hear.

and as long as you do your shit right with H&R block, you cant really get in much trouble, they did it all for you, you just have to be honest, because if your not, its gunna kick you right in the ass, this is where dealers make some money, because you cant tax it obviously, so thers a pro:P lots of cons to, but meh

I'm at Shoebox Accounting (3304 Cambie Street)

basic return ends up being 35$ plus tax.

i had a $500 total income last year.....i want the harlo coupon!

the gov't would like to to file every year, even if you made NOTHING.

did you pay taxes on that 500? cause if so then you might get some change back.

also filing will give you your GST .. (free money)

if all you have is just a return with one t4.. and you come to me.. it's only be 33.17$
