What motivates you?

Do people who are just really really good at things inspire you to work harder? Or do dumbasses just motivate you to not be as stupid as them?

people who i look up to usually become a role model for me to and almost make me "want to be them".
and the odd time its so f'ing awesome to have my nose up in teh air cuz i know im better than everything else at a particular things..makes me want to get even better at it before others catch up.

other than that...money, and where it may land me in the future are also huge motivational things.

i think stupid lazy people motivate me more than high performers... when i'm constantly surrounded with people who's heads are always spinning fast, i get tired and alot of the time discouraged. but when i see people who have flaws, i dunno, i guess i see my flaws in them and i realize how pathetic they are... and work hard to be far beyond that.

i think there are different situations where ud pick who to motivate you.

example..

a friend who surrounds their life with drugs....can become a role model in exactly what NOT to be like

a friend who's amazing at dancing... can become a role model to look up to and be like. (im not gonna look a person who can't dance and be like..OMG im gonna learn how to dance so i can be better then him/her)

hehe i can relate to this... when i was dancing there were the friends i looked up to and haha i could never be as good which was discouraging. then there were friends who wanted to learn my styles and i'd feel that breeze of pimpness since i had my own lil group of apprentices. but then when they got better than me i was like AW FUUUCCCCKK!! then it went into a competition and i guess their potentials were higher? *shrug*... very annoying

People who are good at things inspire me to work harder.

I find that being surrounded by over-achievers/hard-workers make me feel pressured to work just as hard if not more and to strive to do better. I observe and appreciate the work of people who can do things "better" than I can so that i can learn from them and potentially "surpass" them.

Biggest motivators=

accumualating money
achieving my personal best
Further education after undergraduate degree=necessity to keep up the GPA
feeling good about myself in the long run.

so it's like,
i would say the harder working people motivate me.
i would see them work hard, so therefor i would work harder. it would almost seem as i would compete and push myself to be better than the the other, if i even achieve to be as successful as the other than i feel accomplished. even if i don't i feel proud that i put in so much effort to get somewhere and realize that i have much more potential as well.

inspiriation.. i get a lot out of music, i love music
but... i would probalby just say lazy people, because if you work harder than them, you get complemented... well sometimes, but when your trying to keep up to some savage machine guy that doesnt stop working, you have to work really hard for one, and if you barely make it you might get something like a "maybe next time you can keep up to joe here" from your boss or something

edit: i would totally rather work with a bunch of positive people, especially for like a "team" job, dont let the idiots bring you down right?

hmm, a bit of both i must say, although it would have to lean more towards the lazy stupid dumb asses.lol. sure there are those people who are great and inspire me to do greater things, and also, the lazy ones inspire me in a way to not let my life turn out like that.
and of course, my dreams/asperations inspire me to work towards my future.

when i see lazy, unmotivated people, i think god damn, that person's life must be one big emberassment. i dont know how they could fall asleep at night being as retarded as they are. i know i couldn't fall asleep at night if i was unmotivted and had no direction.

hmm well for me i think it is the lazy people. even tho i am the lazy people mainly speak of i do get motivated sometimes. i've found that it is really hard to get me motivated, like nothing does the trick. it's more or less how i'm feeling at that moment so it's a good thing to catch me in a good mood. People who are better at things then me make me happy cause they're good at something. Everyone has talents for certain things such as my good friend beside me:) (you know who you are) she's super great at drawing and i'm sure at other things aswell. haha sorry i strayed off topic a little. writing this has put me in a great mood=) hope you all have a Wonderful day!

^u would of laughed at me alot when i was in grade 10.. haha i used to practice waving and breaks everywhere n take that shit pretty seriously. hehe

anyhow this topic came across me..... i mean if you constantly surround yourself with people who are better than you, you have will always have a ladder to climb. but i personally find that i feel more motivated to try harder when i have someone below me.

maybe we're just lazy? or maybe thats just the way we are and we gotta do whats best for us?
