I was reading the post about choosing names for your kids, and I was wondering where everyones name came from or if anyone knew some cool names?

I was adopted when I was 10 days old and my birth mother named me Shalom, which is a Hebrew word for hello, goodbye, and I love you. So It was symbolic for Hello I brought you into the world, goodbye Im giving you away, and I will love you forever. She isnt jewish but she likes the word:D

Then, my adoptive mother is Irish and wanted an Irish name for me. Theres this really big rock called the Rock of Cashel. My mom decided if I was a boy she would call me Cashell, and if I was a girl she would call me Kaschelle. (they sound almost identical)

And my sisters name is Perryn which is a French wine ...

My name is Tara and When I read this thread I was like hmmmmmmm, I wonder, cuz I never really thought about it before, so I went to ask jeeves LOL and this is what I found out, my name has lots of different meaning such as, shining star, goddess of the sea (like that one) in hindu mythology Tara is one of the names of the wife of Shiva, thats neet. this one is kind of wierd dont know what it really means, where the kings met. where ancient bards sang deeds of irish heros the ruins of halls are on the hill of Tara,meaning crag tower.
