Creepy story - Old broken down BC ferry.

Thats what my friend and I were thinking, thats why he went down there, to talk to the dude about that. I think the acoustics would be horrible though as it is just a big hollowed out peice of metal. But yeah, don't think that didn't cross my mind dude.

That's the old floating Mcdonalds barge from Expo 86! Supposedly some dude bought it and wanted to turn it into a floating nightclub but couldn't get the permits for it.

Yeah there might be people living there, so PLEASE be cautious. I really have no idea. And if anyone tells you to leave, please do. I also don't know what their trying to hide behind the gate & barb wire, But if anyone breaks the barrier of the ferry. Take fucking pictures!

I stopped and had a close look at that ferry a couple of years ago, a friend snapped some pictures. There were some people walking around on it, wasn't clear if they lived there or were doing some work or were hoboes. Maybe someone owns it and they're just keeping it around in case someone wants to use it for a movie or something. Must be very old to be a paddle-wheel, maybe it's a fake one.

You can see the boat from the highway, Bassline I think you have the right area, I had a look on maps.google.com and it's not in the high-resolution area near Maple Ridge so it must be close to Mission where they only have low-resolution satellite pix. I might have it spotted here but can't tell for sure.

If you drive there, check out Hatzic Rock - it's this giant stone that was worshipped by the Indians thousands of years ago. There's a little museum there too, I think that stuff is just east of Mission.

Looks close, i'm thinking in the bottom right corner of that map there's a dark green spot and just to the right there's a tiny spot with a bunch of colors and such. That might be it. It's too bad those maps are so shitty.

That's the Albion Ferry and it's operated by the BC Highways Department. Not B.C. Ferries... lol they may seem as crappy but they're not. ;)

Every time I've been on them I've arrived alive so I have no complaints with them.

We filmed scenes from the movie Blade 3 on that McBarge, it served as the 'Nightstalkers HQ' in the movie. Met the owner and joked about throwing a party on it and he said no and if I tried he'd send a $10,000 invoice to anyone 'caught' trespassing.

As for the derelict ferry you speak of its the old 'Samson III' ferry in Silverdale where you take a RIGHT off of Lougheed Hwy (if going EAST towards Mission) across the train tracks, down the dirt road, past a house (which btw is their property/driveway that you are tresspassing on) then up a dike.

If by chance you do go exploring, be advised to wear a respirator as there's shitloads of toxic gas that have formed over time and broken pipes exposing asbestos dust into the air. DO NOT GO ALONE OR AT NIGHT!

But whats with the toxic gases? I don't get it, where would they come from, AND I never saw one no trespassing sign anywhere AND why would there be people 'living or working or whatever' there. Especially with the so called toxic gas.
