party books... a thing of the past?

ok so i started partying in '96 ... back then party books were like uber fun. (for a while)

everyone had one and some cool shit was recorded and memories held.. I stopped raving for a couple years and moved here...

ive been to raves and parties here now for the last year and I havent seen one party book... not one...

i was talking to my friend and she decided to start one after looking at some of my old ones... she had no idea that such a thing ever existed!!...

is it true that vancouver has no party books here? or has it just all died out since ive been away?

also, if you used to have a party book, do you still have it? i know ill keep mine forever...

I had a book I collected thoughts/phone numbers in.

Then I lost it.

Now I just keep everything on cards in my wallet.

Hahaha I have a couple of those. Some from before I started partying too. Just to record what happened when I was under the influence. Me and my friends had a rule. We couldnt read what was put in the book until the day after. Then we would get together and laugh at ourselves. It was just fun to write down numbers, thoughts, drawings.
I used to meet so many people and forget them the next day it was cool to have their msn or something to catch up when I was sober. Obviously I needed the book less when I stopped doing drugs. But it's neat to look back on.

hehe, i *sometimes* bring an art/sketch book to parties, ppl can look at my drawings, (or doodle in it if they promice not to loose it) and get #/email addy's

I generally always have one since Grande Finale........mind you I haven't been in the scene for very long (only a year and a half) but I think it's handy to have when you meet ppl you don't know......it's also fun to read it later and try and figure out who some ppl are or just what the hell they were talking about in some of the things that have been writen in my book........if you see me around at any raves feel free to ask if you can sign it.......even if you have at a previous rave

yeah i figured it was an old tradition...

we would just pass it around all night and then at the end of the party somehow it would magically appear back in my hands with all sorts of crazy things...

ahhh how i miss the good ol days...

i dont do as many drugs as i used to so somehow i think i lost that "go-getter" attitude and am back to my shy old self... i could have a book now but i dont think it would be the same. =/

I filled up only one book. 'Twas fun. Oh the memories. I read it again every now and then just to remember all the weird fun.

I love mine.. to look back and just read. haha.

I actually.. still sorta use one.. like for random note, or when pppl give me their numbers n shit. they're handy.

i had a book...then some guy took it and wrote like 80 pages of it cuz he was all high..he ripped the pages that he wrote on outta my book and then gave it back to me..my book only had 100 pages..=(

Did you have it at godspeed 2? Someone came up and asked me to sign their book while I was playing... other than that I havent seen one since I moved out to van.

i'm with myra...i never know what to write. it's like writing in someone's yearbook that you never really knew: "hi, history was fun...um, anyway, have a great summer" only the rave version of that: "hi, this rave was fun, see you at the next party."

Blunted: Ya that was probably me........I got way too many ppl to sign my book that night......used up about a third of the book in just that night
