nobody is saying german scientists weren't capable and they certainly made a large contribution to the american effort... point is, Germany itself never came very close to creating a bomb - this is what matters.

ps. Operation "Paperclip" refers to after the war anyway. There was some interesting stuff about the Japanese unit 731 along with that though, talking about infecting chinese POWs with Bubonic Plague and then performing live dissections without any annastetics... ouch.
