^gmail is so much better laid out than hotmail. i love how if you keep replying to an email it just stays as one long chain.

yeh gmail hords your msgs even when you delete them. I still like the look of it though. Although, the novelty sort of wore off after a week or 2 after getting the account haha.

Yeah, but you need to pay to get the 2G mailbox.

I have both a 2G hotmail account and a 2G Gmail account.

I use the hotmail one entirely at work. And it's really just an inbox for stuff that people want to send me at work.

Gmail I use the fact that it's threaded to take notes and tack on more notes for work. I have an entire label that's called "Work-related" and it's referral numbers, ticket templates, etc. etc. etc.

It's because I'm bad for making sure I bring stuff to work so I just gmail myself the notes so that I have access to them.

I got both accounts at about the same time. Since then:

- my hotmail account went out once for 2 days
- my gmail account went out once for half a day
- my gmail account definately filters spam better than hotmail (Hotmail thus far has given me 3 false positives and 2 misses, on top of which the hotmail administration spams me on a regular basis and haven't given me an opt-out, gmail has given me 1 false positive..)
- I like the threading. Like I say, it helps for notes. And I like the labels better than folders. The fact of the matter is, I get phone numbers I want for work, so they go into both "Work-related" and "address book". Or "work-related" and "site registries".
- KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS!!!!

I like my gmail better.

hotmail doesn't keep old msg's for search strings in order to advertise to you.

At least when google advertises to me they don't keep throwing it in my inbox so I need to throw it in the trash/junk mail.

I'd filter anything from msn administration.... except I technically need to keep an eye on anything that comes from them.
