I love how aging rockstars who have too much money get off on telling the world how it ought to be doing better. really, i do.

although i'm skeptical of the Live 8 concert and it's impact, it really bothers me how people assume that just because rock stars and movie actors/actresses have more money that they are less credible to care about the welfare of others. who says they can't care just as much about poverty as someone else who works a 9-5 job?

it's as if as soon as you make enough money or get famous enough you're not allowed to care about anything anymore. you can't have political or social views without someone scoffing at you. what's the difference? they're still human. sure, they have more money, but that doesn't mean their views are any less credible. i have more money than the poor poverty stricken people in africa too! does that mean i'm not allowed to care about them?
