need new printer - recommendations?

need a new printer...mine is done - thinking about picking up a laser since all i'll be printing is text pretty much.

recommendations?

I've had a HP Laserjet IIP for over 10 years, still works great, but only 300 dpi. The ink cartridge lasts a long time, 3 or 4 years for me. My printer is almost out of ink, new cartridge is about $130 which is near the price of a whole new printer.

I'd check out any of the low-end HP lasers. But I'd probably get the Dell 1700, $212 + $25 shipping, 1200 dpi, seems to be a higher-end type of printer for a low price. And they have another printer, the 1100 for $149 + $25, 600 dpi.
