Metro/global paper distributers in dt!

HOLY FUCK! like, are you kidding me?
there are at least 2 of them on every block. From Burrard station to my school, I am offered 234523503 papers. toooo many of them.

i decided that i would take a copy from the first person i see, so that the rest of them would leave me the fuck alone, right? wrong! They were all still trying to shove copies up my ass. Are they working on commission or something?

And how can the 'zines afford to have all these peeps? I'm sure it's not volunteer work, since they are all working hard. But it's free paper, so I assume that they make all their money from advertising.

It's crazy that the $ would suffice (plus the profit) to pay $8/hr to a billion people for hours, every day.

Fucking Christ those newspaper guys annoy me. I pass the same ones every fucking day. I didn't take a paper from you for the last 3 months why would i start taking one now. Most times I have a HUGE book with me too... why don't people get the picture?

I'm pretty sure some or most of the dailies are owned by a large company.

And yeah they get their money from advertising, it's not crazy. How do you think the non-free papers make their money? Not from the $2 we pay for them.

^ I read in an issue of Adbusters that each copy of The Province costs $0.65 to print.
but obviously they make a living out of the ads.
