Digital Cable
Yeah, we're a little behind with the times, but we're finally trying out digital cable tomorrow.
Whats your favorite channels, fav radio stations, what channels are worth the extra toonie for monthly subscriptions? Can't wait for hockey to start back up and to check out the football (soccer) channel =)

We like the movie channels in my family. They're in the high 90's channels for us, dunno if its the same or not for you (it's Delta Cable, not Shaw like I had in Richmond)... Good new movies come out about the same time as they come out for rental... There's always something good on. I think it's like the Movie Central channels or something...

i bought that shaw high definition box, that has tivo in it. and aside from the tivo part, the box is totally shit. it converts all non-high def channels to high def format, making some channels fuzzy on my new widescreen plasma. so we had to split the cable, and run one line into the shaw high def box (for all the high definition channels) and the other directly into the plasma, for channels 1-49 (because they aren't in high definition). and it's such a hastle to switch from one cable line to the other if i want to just surf channels. can t.v. stations please hurry up and all switch to HDTV programming! there is really no comparasion, and now that we have all these nice plasma t.v.'s out there...we can't use them to their full potential if the feeds are shitty.
so there's my somewhat relavent rant about my digital cable experience. i have all the channels up to 100. and then my high deffintion ones run in the 300-400's. also, if you want a cheaper rate on your digital cable, phone up shaw customer service and tell them you will switch to satelite if they don't give you a better price than competitors, and chances are they will give it to you. or, at least they did for me. haha, i did that on my credit card too, and got it's intrest down 1.5%, it's surprizing what these companies will do for you if you complain enough. anyways, have fun with your digital cable!

im pretty sure when you order movie central which is like 60-70 u get the eastern channels fox,nbc,cbs, abc included, we used to get mtv canada but now its called razer and all they play is dawsons creek. i agree with cdn border about ifc and the documentary channel, i think u can get 5 custome channels for a decent price
