Was Richard Park a good aquisition?
Like I know that the new rule changes for the upcoming season will benefit smaller players because of less obstruction and grabbin onto players but with other unrestricted free agents like (cough cough) Jose Theordore, Jocelyn Thibault, Ray Witney, etc.... was Park worth the $750000 USD that we signed for? This 5'11 right winger has struggled last couple yrs and with the recent sigings of Morrison and Ryan Kesler do we really need another small guy?

I think he was a smart acquisition for sure. He's proven himself with the Wild and is far from a BIG point scorer but he gets better every year.
As far as salaries go his is paltry.... not even 1/39th of the cap right?? He's fast and has shown he can feed the puck.... put him on the right line and I think he'll fit right in.

^ i dunno about that but I think he'll get better. He's put up decent goals on a shitty defensive minnesota wild teams. Its a good aquisition because the sedins although they put up decent POINTS, they lack the goal scoring touch. I mean common neither has ever gone 20 goals in a season yet. most of their point are from assists to others.
We need a goal scorer. Park may not be the best player but he can still score goals on a line with the sedins i think would be a nice fit, cause the sedins can see well and pass the puck around.

the canucks have made a good choice...mr. park does all the good little things, and as stated above, his feet can really move...look for him to make a great debut season for the canucks even though he won't have a really high point season with us first year :)

I know what you mean boys he is not too shabby but compared to other teams litke Brian Burke wit da Ducks..... they jus aquired Fedorov with their current lineup... I know that Nonis is Burkes understudy and he's taught solely to make $ for the team but don't you guys feel every team is beefin up except us?

^ that is a true point. We havn't even signed ohlund yet.
after ohlund is signed if we don't go crazy resigning all our restricted free agents. we will have plenty of $ to still go with the 39 million dollar cap even without beefing up though our team is decent. we just need good second line scoring and maybe 1 or 2 more good defensmen. oh and maybe a goalie though debatable
