becoming a flight attendant..hmmm
So I was thinking about taking a 13week diploma program for becoming a flight attendant. I looked into it a little and everything seems very specific. You must speak 2 languages, be a minimum of 5'4", be able to reach a height of 6'6", you're height must be in proportion with your wieght, must have good health, good vision and professional grooming and posture. Do any of you fnkers know anyone that is a flight attendant or anything about it at all??
I'd like to learn more about it before i decide to sign up for it in January.:) |

^Air Canada exists.
My step uncle flys for them. $$ is good and you get to fly around the world for free. It's a great job if you'd like to see the world. Hours can be real shitty and you can count on being called a wench. If you're interested, go for it. It can be a hell of an experience if you make it. Oh ya, it's your chance to join the mile high club. |

it's a very erratic job in that you never really know where you'll be, but you tend to only work 10-15 days a month and the pay is decent. plus you get to fly free and usually get a certain number of family/friend passes as well. you'll start off flying the bum domestic routes, like to edmonton, but if you stick around long enough you could get some nice flights.
don't waste your money on a course! i might look into that when i come back. |

Depends on the Carrier. I have a couple Friends that are full time Flight Attendants for Pacific Coastal Airlines. They're local and the pay isn't bad either. You don't need a second language either as far as I know too. Maybe check a local Carrier like Pasco or Hawk Air and such to try and get on and see how you like it then if you do, get experience there and apply to a larger Carrier like Air Canada etc.
