don't go to cove bikes .. unless you can get deals.. they rippppppp off the general public

the thing is, if they think you are a noob they will make you pay full price anywhere. markup on bikin shit is huuuge

I'm a total NOOB...I'm wanting to invest $$ into a bike cause I just can't afford to be paying for a car on top of paying for mnthly $70 bus pass and other bills while in school... :(

I'm wanting a mountain bike/comfort bike

I know NOTHING about bikes but I'm willing to spend MAX $500-600

My bikes have always been custom built cuz I destroy parts with the kind of riding I do, my latest one added up to 3gs ..

I wouldn't bother with the commuter, or comfort bike, or any of that BS.. If you want a bike that will get you from A-B.. while being able to handle some trail abuse.. just go straight up mountain bike. 26" wheels. Go to John Henry, tell em exactly what you are trying to accomplish with yer price range. They will probably make you look at some Norcos, Specialized, etc.. If I only had 600 to spend, I'd buy a norco for sure. Just cuz of the value..

ps DONT GET CLIP PEDALS. if the bike has clip pedals, tell them to swap out for "flats" of equal value. flats are just flat pedals with spikes to grip yer shoes.
