simple things i love

- chocolate bars that have been melted in the sun and then put in fridges to be cooled down and then eaten later in their morphed and slightly grotesque shape. this somehow makes them taste so much better.

- when you drink jones soda and the fortune can be easily applied to your life. this isn't the same with horoscopes because everyone around your birthday gets the same one and jones soda caps seem more personal.

- someone paying you pack money that you have long forgotten you lent them, making it seem like they are just giving you some extra cash.

- when you're shopping in a store and are just about to give up and then out of the corner of your eye you see something, the one thing, that you like and it fits perfectly and costs only half as much as you thought it would.

- thinking you have no food in the fridge and then moving aside the rotten milk to discover that you still have several pieces of pizza sitting there from last night that nobody ate.

- how moms always know exactly how long to put something in the microwave for and on what power mode.

- when you're eating a bowl of cereal and you manage to finish it all while the flakes are still crunchy.

- when you toast a bagel or a piece of bread and it comes out perfectly, with that darker circle around the edges (but not burnt) and that wonderful brown glaze over the rest of it adding just enough crunch, but still soft in the middle.

-showing up at the bus stop just as your bus gets there

-running into friends unexpectedly

-oreo ice cream

-clean sheets that are still warm from the dryer when you go to bed.

-my woobie(blankie) that my moms friend made for me, I swear it has healing powers, and how it always smells like home.

-when my mom calls me right before a big show to ask if I have eaten, and when I say yes(cause I am usually lying, I just don't have the time) she will still bring me food. HECK, all the stuff she does for me on the day of a show.

-finding money in a pocket that you forgot was there.

- text messages on a shitty day when you think no one else is possibly thinking about you and then bloop! it appears from someone telling you a joke or saying that they hope you have a good day.

- singing a song you love then turning on the radio and having it being played over the airwaves.

- co-workers sharing their lunches when you forget yours.

how my cat knows when i have a headache and he comes to me to purr in that soothing way cats purr.

how dogs are always happy to see you. (minus security dogs)

waking up and realizing that you have nothing to do that day so you can lie in the warm nest you've made in bed and watch the sunshine on the walls or plan your day or go back to sleep....

Im so feelin you on this one! Looked at my grim bank account balance and just realized I have a cheque (which was bigger than I thought it would be in the first place!) still in my wallet to deposit. Your post totally reminded me!

And ya, woke up to a sunny day and I dont hafta go into work today. Woohoo! And it's staying sunny :)
