I remember being in a heat wave in NYC a few years ago, it was about 108 with a humidity index of 98%.

I'd leave my air conditioned house to grab the mail, I'd then have to change my shirt when I got back in.

When I was in Stuttgart in 1998 it was 46 degrees and 87% humidity. It felt like death.

Those were the temperatures I endured during my 2 week road trip holiday earlier this month. Average 38*C to 45*C, and the humidity was ridiculous.

Let's just say I thanked the inventor of air conditioning during those two weeks

our energy bill at our house in NY is about double during the summer than in the winter.

central a/c is expensive but I don't know what I would do without it during the summer.
