ok well, let me put it like this; 1 every song you listen to of kanye's he refers to white people as white people and black people as "us" and "we" and im not sure if you agree with me but when someone refers to people of the same origion as himself and other people by their colour then that usually means they are racist or are judgemental towards people of that colour (judging by his lyrics)

Lately I've started to wonder what the fuck racism is anyways. There are differences between cultures, plain and simple. They don't apply to every single member of a race or culture, but honestly I've lost my adherence to the idea that it's always wrong to generalize or stereotype.

People like Dave Chappelle and Kanye West point out the differences between blacks and whites.. maybe some people call them racist.. I call them observant.

there is a really fine line between ebing racist and being "observant"; the difference is when you take those different qualities and generalize them towards people as a negative thing, thats when you are crossing that line.

thats the equivilant of saying; "black poeple have large penis's" and then saying "black people are drug dealers and always carry gun", sure its not true for every black person but your still being a biggot but generalizing negative qualities about someone based on their colour and appearance.

i think the general idea is to eventually reach a place in society where you recognize the individual before the race or stereotype.

the real danger with stereotypes is based in the lazy thought process it takes to get there. 'black people' aren't good at basketball, tall people are. strong people are. people that practice everyday are. 'black people' aren't bad at academics. families steeped in poverty are, kids growing up with substandard education are. kids that goto school hungry are. black people dont carry guns, poor people carry guns. dubya doesnt hate black people (look at his staff), he 'hates' poor people. understand the differences, dont perpetuate the myths.

to casually throw out the stereotypes, as so many people do, just reinforces a negative attitude and IGNORES the underlying reasons for racism itself.

This thread is about Kanye's provocative outburst on live National TV, when he challenged whether or not the Bush administration really gave a shit.

When Kanye said "George Bush hates black people" I didn't hear A-track cutting it up in the background.

I'm starting to think spectrum is just a promo bot. It just pops up when there's a show to promote, collates to find all relevant threads it can attach promos to, and all relevant forums it can drop promo in, and then disappears till the next event.
