no, it's not the brakes. i know what brake squealing sounds like (and i know i don't need my brakes done yet).
it has to be the vent, or something connected to it, because it ONLY makes noise when there's some airflow. as soon as i turn it all off, it stops completely. turn it back, even only a tiny bit, and it goes right up again. and it's only the right side. |

It sounds like a belt or pulley problem. There could be dirt or something stuck in the pulley/belt.
To find out, pop the hood and grab a squirt bottle. Spray the pulleys and belts. *the twisty turny belts right up by your radiator * If it's dirt the sound should stop shortly. It's only a temporary solution though. You might need to have the belt reinstalled, half an hour worth of work. If it's a pulley, maybe an hour, hour and a half worths work.
