Gangster Wedding!!!!

After putting a little thought into what we wanted to do we've decided on going with a 50's gangster style wedding. I've finally managed to find a place I can get decent suits from for this too. I had a thread trying to find zoot suits before. These aren't quite zoot suits but they look pimp just the same! All the guys are gonna be decked out in this... and my son who is the ring bearer! He'll be cute as hell in this get-up!

Basic style (minus bowtie though, using a standard style royal blue tie):

Karen will be a standard wedding dress.... I have no idea what it looks like! We didn't want to mess with that one too much.

The bridesmaids are picking out their dress styles this week and we'll have them made. Most likely theirs will be fairly well matched with the guys. I know they looked at a halter top style with the hem stopping just above the knee on one side and cutting down at an angle towards the other.

^We're already thinking of that for pictures..... my grandfather might be able to get us an old 50's Buick or someting for pics as well.

Karen I'm dissapointed! (ok not really, she;ll look absolutely beautiful either way) However something like this wouldnt hurt haha.

p.s. I see the rockabilly boy is still in you!! Its going to be a rad wedding :) If karen needs someone who knows way too much about 40's-50's makeup send her my way.

oooh oooh, you should go more the 30's-40's route and wrap her in silk and furs and long pearls, and put her gorgeous red hair in finger waves!!!

^Yeah we thought about it but the girly dream of the 'beautiful wedding dress' is stuck right in there.... I'm pretty sure that the dress she picked is at least a little in the same direction while maintaining the classic wedding bit.

haha, see my mother is going to shit when she sees my wedding dress. Not that I'm having a wedding anytime soon but my dreams of a frilly white gown are deffinately dead. Its red (because I aint no virgin!), its satin, and it will have a corset! haha. At least my mom wont be able to see any of my tattoos... yet!

I can't wait to see the pictures, you must be dying to see her in that dress! When is the date?

(oh and of course youre going to look pimp too shawn, my hubby better be up for something rad like that or he won't end up being my hubby!!)

We thought about it but that would be really difficult to do. I think it'll be just as much fun for us to do it and decorate the reception in accordance to the style as well.

This is what my friend did - and the outfits were awesome that showed up. A lot of great mink stoless and colorful zoot suits, the pics were awesome. You should give them the option, it can make the pics awesome.

I'm glad that Karen's still going to wear the traditional gown she's probably been dreaming of since she knew what a bride was! :P

You should just do up the invitations and include a picture of a 50s style couple, and say something like "dress to impress...50s style!"
