Jaromir Jagr interesting facts...

.Interesting Jagr facts:
-Started skating at the age of three.
-His best friends are Martin Straka, John Cullen and Petr Nedved.
-Jaromir Jagr is really the III Jaromir Jagr.
-He was chosen BEHIND (!!!) Owen Nolan, Petr Nedved, Keith Primeau, and
-Mike Ricci in the 1990 draft picks.
-He's addicted to Kit Kats (a candy bar)
-Jagr chose number, 68, becasue 1968 was the year the Soviets. invaded .Czechoslovakia -- as well as the year his grandfather died.
-There's a life-sized wax statue of him standing in the Czechoslovakia Wax
Museum.
-Has got his own Sports bar in Prague.
-Can spend lots of time in bars - still he almost never takes any alcohole...
-The American company Terascale Computing System has produced an expensive and extremly fast computer called "Jaromir".
-The company has also made a computer that costed about $45 million to create with the name "LeMieux"...

not like most people care about Jagr...but sometimes you have to wonder what some of the scoring kings are all about :)

Your stat about being picked later than Nedved and Owen Nolan isn't that surprising. Happens all the time in the NHL.

P.S: You really like Jagr don't ya lol

NHL records Jagr is currently holding:
Most points ever by a right winger: 149 (1995/1996)
Most assists by a right winger: 87
Most assists in Stanley Cup finals by a rookie.
Youngest player to score a hat trick (he was 18)

Jaromir Jagr's regular season NHL statistics:
First NHL Game:
October 5, 1990 - in a 7-4 win at Washington.
First NHL Hat Trick:
Feb. 2, 1991 against Boston. (Finished the last goal with a backhander on a breakaway)
First NHL Goal/Point:
October 7, 1990 - in a 7-4 win vs New Jersey vs Chris Terreri. (On a rebound)
Most Penalty Minutes/Game:
17 - Mar. 28, 1995 in a 6-3 win vs NY Islanders.

well, jagr is one of the few players I do admire out there in the NHL. He is one of the most respected players out there, he shows a lot of heart (much like Linden) but he is not as outspoken like other players are. He focusses his skills to benefit the whole team by what? Getting more assists on team mate's goals! I think that Mario taught him how to become a leader and really think smart out there. It also does not hurt that where Jagr came from (Kladno, Czech Republic -> when it was still Czechoslovakia) those europeans were brought to love the game for the skill, not the money. So coming out to the states and getting paid for what he really loved doing only made him prosper (in more ways than one). You see a lot of top players out there always in the media talking about how their team is doing and whatnot, how often do you see Jagr commenting on the game? Hardly at all! So he is one of the more strong silent types out there...Naslund is also somewhat the same (you can hear the nervousness in his voice everytime he talks to the media hahahah) =)
