Opening day at Baker S-U-C-K-E-D!!!

I think half of Seattle took the day off and headed up to the mountain. Took forever to get into the parking lot and then lineup to get a lift ticket was at least an hour.

Then I would guess it is another hour before you got onto a chairlift.

So lots of stupid people and lots of snow = injuries waiting to happen.

Forget it... so we headed back to the cabin and go ride tomorrow.

Whistler was worse on Saturday, I got to the parking lot at 8:15 and didn't get to the top of the mountain till 10:30 all said and done.

Baker has a ton of snow for a base so I'm going to give it a few weeks to get some powder back.

All those people tracked the crap out of the mountain and this morning there wasn't much left to ride. It was OK but I wanted better for the first day of the season... but then it is ONLY November 9th.

I heard Whistler's opening day was something I didn't miss out on and I'll skip on Cypress until they get more snow.

Man, I GOTTA get up this year, s'been so long... last time I went was when Baker had gotten so much snow they'd closed the Lodge and you have to get onto the hill via the back quad, maaaan.... there was so much snow your skis touched as you crested the hill on the back quad, it was retarded....fuck I wish I'd had a camera...
