I'm talking about those ballot draws that you find at some festival or car show that offer some trip or cruise for 2-4 people.

Anyway I always just throw it in not expecting to win, but I got a call back.
Supposedly they have been calling my house frequently, asking for me but I was always at work, and they could not talk to my mom regarding the details.

So today they called and I picked up. The woman said something about winning some trip to Florida, for a cruise or something through universal studios? She talked really fast. I don't even remember the details of what I signed up for, and she didn't give me a lot of info in the conversation which seemed a bit strange. She just asked me to reconfirm my contact details and if I had a guest I wanted to bring. I said yes and then she said she would call back when we were both together to go over everything. :047:

So I have no idea what the deal is, and if I have to pay any extra. So I'm just wondering if anyone else has been called back for some of these ballot draws, and actually went on the trip. Did you get roped into paying for something? Was it totally covered? Or was it just a total scam.

I guess because I've never won anything like this, I feel like there should be a catch or something.

So any feedback would be nice.

its called a telemarketing scheme and you just got HAD!

oh and,tell them to never call you again and get them to give you a fax#to fax that statement to so they can get it writing.Once thats done they are legally bound to NEVER call you again,if they do you can sue them bigtime!

my mum won a cruise from the news paper and she had to pay for a flight to get to the departure city, and then some connector fees. Otherwise the cruise was covered.

did they tell u that u have 12 months to decide when u would like to leave on your trip?

and u can bring 2 or more friends for 250.00 more?

they have scamed alot of peolpe in the lower mainland!

Night market? Are you asking where I did the ballot? (it was at the yaletown car show in august)

Well thats the thing, other then this woman calling, nobody else has contacted my house. Nobody has asked for any of my visa info (which I would never give them, because that is just fucking scetchy) And she hasn't asked me any other questions, then what was already on the ballot.
I already know to directly tell people to no longer call me. I just find the way they are going about it strange. I filled out the ballot in august so it's just strange that it is comming up now. meh, she said she would call back on saturday, so if it turns out to be a pile a crap then i'll just tell her to piss off, and that I request her to no longer call me.

If you have a land line listed in the phone book your info is already sold... you don't have to enter contests etc. If you want to join 'do not contact lists' visit www.the-cma.org... it's easier than getting rid of them one by one. You can also find out rules telemarketers have to follow.

Recently I had a complaint with the vancouver sun, the seriously called me 5 times in a week... and legally because I am not a customer can only call me once a month for the same product. Great fun.

When I was younger, my mom and I won a trip to the Bahamas. Of course you don't get everything for free, I think we had to pay for our hotel and the flight was free or vice versa. It was pretty cool. Get all the details, it might be worth it.

She just doesn't know when to call! She says she will call on the weekend. She calls today. Then I tell her she can reach me at 7 before I go to kickboxing. Then she doesn't call. She is persistant but doesn't seem to actualy get a hold of me. Just make it look that way. lol whatever.

well,just to throw my 2cents in here...my mother won a trip like this... and it ended up being everything included (well,almost everything I think) EXCEPT for tips. and, if you have ever been on a cruiseline - the tips are a HUGE amount - and they are mandatory. So, you are getting a deal, but you still have to cough out some money... if this is the same, of course... but thats the only experience I have with something like this...

Yah it's hard to know. She just doesn't seem to be going about it in a very good way. She finaly gets a hold of me, and then puts off telling me anything until i'm with my boyfriend? My mom tries to ask her simple questions, and she won't even speak with her because she says she can't, because she is not me. And then she never ends up calling in the specified times I give her. Instead she seems to call every time i'm not available. Even on my cell when I'm at work.
I don't want to waste my money calling her. But it's annoying that she just doesn't call at appropriate times, and will never leave messages to try and connect. It just seems unprofessional. I just wish she didn't talk so fast the last time she called, so I actualy got her name, and full business name.

If you have actually signed up for something. Or if you recalll entering a certain draw, i won one of these, all you have to pay is a registration fee. and everything else is actually free.
