Good house nights in Van?

House muzak in general, what are the good nights downtown? Really looking for that laid back, jazzy house sound, but any house'll do. Not lounge music.. 4/4 preferred. I remember back in the day there was a house night at Stone Temple, but yeah, that same laid back vibe.

Anyone have any ideas? That night, Aqua is it? Is that the direction I should be headed?

If your looking for that more Jazzy sound than deffinently BLUE @ Aqua Saturdays.
They have a sax player who plays along almost all night and Akeel on drums which has a really nice touch to it. Also its much more funky than lounge so youll never stop dancing :D

others:

Redroom 'Beleive' Saturdays: Has some of the best prog/tribal dj's in town. Always a packed night too.

Celeberties Friday: DJ Leanne plays there alot... its known as a gay club so you get a variety of disco, funky, groovin, volcal dancy house. Again always a good ngiht.

Lotus: Thursdays I think is more elctro house night???
Fridays often has Kevin Shou with more deep and prog house
Saturdays... deep/prog/electro type of house???

SkyBar Tuesdays: 'Beleive' from saturdays started doing a house night there.

Plaza Club Tuesdays: DJ Noah + guest can play a variety of house, electro, funk, trance... ect.

Tribecca Wednsdays: Some good local house dj's from Vancouver get together and pretty much just jam... Same now goes on Fridays too I think. Its a loungy enviroment, but they still play some harder progg/deep/tribal/funk.

ps: If you were talking about going to CHEEKY on Wednsdays back in the day... same kinda crew is now doing BIG TROUBLE at the Lotus on Wed. However its all mash up of old school, funk, house, electro, 80's, hip hop ect ect.

pps: Keep an eye out for CARGO, BLUE PRINT, and VIVID events. They do the bigger named DJ events almost weekly. Also Lotus long weekend and random partys at the Waldorf (miammi nights?) always have a good group of house dj's playing :)

Wow! Thanks! I've heard some very good things about Aqua, and I've moved downtown recently, and right on Alberni, so I think I should check that out forsure..

i think Club 686 has a night on Tuesdays that are house..
haven't checked it.. so i cant tell u exactly whats up with it..
