Renting in Burnaby

I'm going to school in January and I'm considering selling my apartment in Kits. (ugh.. I can't believe this) and renting in Burnaby as I work, and go to school there.

Just curious what the rent is like there so if you live there or are familiar let me know.

Looking around Gilmore, Willingdon, Holdem skytrain stations. 1 or 2 bedrooms.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full size in-suite laundry machine, 950 sqr. ft appartment @ Boundary and Canada Way. Rent is $1100 and includes hot water, and a free gas fireplace. (no gas bill)

What about renting the kits place, and then you have rent money for the burnaby place. Atleast you get to keep your kits place, bc the value of it is only going to go up, so unless you're getting a whole lot more for it if you sell now, I'd hold out. Tons more money would be the only thing to get me to sell a place in kits. And only so that I could invest in a nicer place in Kits. Heh.

Wish I had one to even be thinking all this about. Mmm Kits.

if you own it.... ever consider renting it out or subletting it while you don't live there? It sounds like a gem, why let it go even if you HAVE to relocate for the time being?!?!

Ugh. I've considered renting it out but my strata only allows so many rentals and currently we're maxed out.

I love Kits. Like LOVE and don't want to leave... but there's more to it.

My boyfriend here all the time and it's too small...and he works in Delta so Burnaby would be closer for him too. But I have 5 cats... so renting's a pain in the ass. And the cat shelter I love and volunteer at is in Kits.

If I sold now I'd be able to pay off the rest of my mortgage and have more than enough for a decent down payment on a larger place... but then my payments would go up and if I ended up by myself again I couldn't afford it working p/t AND going to school, and I'd have to drop out again.

Judging by this survey says I should stay in Kits... and buy a car. But ever since I was run down by a black jetta I'm a nervous wreck behind the wheel, but my commute to work/home from school would be nothing as there's basically no traffic. I suppose I could get over it.

Ugh Ugh Ugh. Regardless I wouldn't do anything until the New Year.
