Polished Magnesium Alloy Laptop Lid

FINALLY!
After trying to hand sand the first one with disasterous warping results my gf hooked me up with an spray can of "Aircraft Paint Stripper" which would strip the paint, but not damage the aluminum of the casing. 7 days and many, many, many different levels of sandpaper grit later the lid is finally nearly totally smooth and polished to a mirror finish. Only problem is that it now shows finger prints constantly!

it's not a coating, the lid was actually made from either aircraft aluminum or some sort of magnesium/aluminum alloy (like rims for a car). It actually is pretty scratch resistant... the fingerprints are still really frickin' annoying tho

Compaq Armada M700...He lent it to me and it got broked so he took it back and fixed it and now it's naked. :(
