Book Crossing

Okay so i was at school, and i was sitting in the lobby area, and i saw this book and it was in a ziplock bag, and it had a note to it. And apparently someone left it there and its like a book traveling thingy....

has anyone else ever come across this before?

the note:

Please visit www.bookcrossing.com enter this BCID number _____________, and leave a journal note about where you found the book. You may be compleely annonymous- or you are welcome to join fellow Book Crossers- it's free & lots of fun!

ive seen that before... they have some advertisments for it posted up around here... basically you register the book and then donate it and shit and you can track exactly who's read it after you as it travels around... kind of a cool idea i guess...

gnosis has a spectacular aura aboutgnosis has a spectacular aura about
New .com, old idea.

The Underground Library has been going on, for years.

People just leave books behind at points or modes of travel.

Generally, they write on the inside sleeve their name and where they left it behind for the next person to pick up and read while they journey.

There was another website (lost the addy) where you could log on and track books' progress.

Regardless, it's a great practice, leaving good books for others' enjoyment!
