BC rolls out latest plan to fight 'cybercrime'


Solicitor General John Les has announced strong measures to crack down on cybercrime. He's adding 10 new members to focus on Internet crimes like child exploitation, hacking and identity theft. However, most people we've been talking to have concerns over privacy and effectiveness. Our listeners say they want the commitment to help, they just don't see how ten officers can battle criminals on a 'world wide' scale.

i think the hunt to crack down on child pornography is something that seriously needs to be supported, but i personally believe this is just another intrusion into our privacy by specific authorities, and government bodies.

but the more information thats stored electronically the more value that criminals put on it. therefore the more protection that information would need.
