Brendan Morrison

Quote:
In the end, Brendan Morrison scrubbed a rebound out from behind the Flames net on the power play three minutes into overtime and tucked the winner inside the post on a scrambling Mikka Kiprusoff.
Now it could be me, but I am noticing Brendan Morrison coming out of his shell. He is starting to light up the net. The canucks just hit the mid season part, and if Brendan Morrison (who I am on his band wagon again) continues to play like this till the end of the season, then the canucks will surely be one of the top 3 teams in the western conference. What are your thoughts on Brendan Morrison so far this season, even though we know he should be producing more points that he is capable of having? :)

Although Salo has also stepped up, it seems that Morrison is getting the points when the canucks need him the most...I think we are hopefully about to see a point streak with morrison if he keeps playing the way he does and gets the timely goals!

yea. the canucks are a fun team to watch...

but its gonna take alittle bit more than morrison scoring goals to get this team moving the way it should be.. i think they have all realized that and hopefully the canucks are gonna turn there game around and start shit kicking the rest of the teams.

I've been very disapointed with Morison. I hope he has made a change and will be part of the team from now on.

I have a feeling that he might be on the trade list when it come time as he is about the only Canuck that other teams want and would be willing to part with a decent player for. We'll see.

Always a streaky player. I guess that means he's due for an upswing?

I'm pretty sure that scorin' the winner in ot in front of his kids n family is gonna give him the boost he needs to get back on track.

I was more impressed with Auld than anybody that game, he robbed Iginla.

I've liked Morrison the last little while also, he's consistently been performing but only in the minimal assists area. He needs the goal production up to where he was usually performing 25 goals a year etc...

but if he can get going that naslund, bertuzzi line should finally start rolling. morrison is a fundamental part of that line

lol yeah he still hasnt done much......he got an empty net goal.....and maybe a few other littles one (nothing memorable). I'm still expecting more from him......technically Anson Carter is contributing more to the team than him. Of course he's got 20+ assist playing with Naslund and Bertuzzi....any half-decent player playing with those guys should. I still think he needs to step up a lot more and at least get more goals than the guys considered to be inferior to him on the 2nd line.

he's definately picked up his game.. I hope it keeps up because he's a valuable player to the Nucks.. but they're all being unpredictable right now.. what's with Bertuzzi taking falls so easily lately? Isn't he supposed to be the powerhouse on the team? Taking a dive from a one-hand shove.. come on!

Morrison definetly needs to up the goal production for sure. 9 goals is just brutal. Bertuzzi needs to up it too though naslund has 22 goals.

If morrison had more assists Naslund might have more goals seeing as morisson has only 23 assists. If he shoots more chances for rebounds

yeah the canucks need to take WAY MORE SHOTS......its amazing how many times the puck ends up in the net from shitty shots, deflections or rebounds when someone just throws it on net. The canucks try to make it too perfect before putting it on net

canucks need some serious improvement, i mean common we barely won that game, even with the ref's help...... 10 penalties, 3/10..... no 5 on 5 goals, and we looks discouraged most of the game - the first 10 min..... just because we have won 2 games in a row, i still think were playing brutal hockey, if it wasn't for salo canucks would have drowned that game, no one else is doing anything, sedin sisters have nothing, their terrible on their skates, can't hit, cant go in corners and dig for the puck, nor can they shoot very good.....

were in need of change, something, everyone says goaltending, or defense, but i'd like to see something dramatic because if we dont win this year our top players arn't getting any better..... there going down, and we gotta step it up as a team.\

but it is good to see them winning!

^ i actually think the sedin's are doing better......i've seen them do some good digging in the corners and they've always been good making plays this season....even if they dont score that much, they always get it to carter.

i'd say what the canucks need to do to win is:

1) put the puck on net way more
2) aquire a good goalie
3) get more out of their first line (mostly morrison & bert)
4) and get way more fuckin goals from dudes like kesler, park, linden and cooke; these guys are all pretty good but havent produced very much at all.

i gotta quote this too. YOU'RE AN IDIOT. the most consistent line on that team has been the sedins + carter line.

terrible on their skates? they are very strong skaters, only speed is a concern.

can't hit? not their job. unless naslund's supposed to hit now too.

can't go in the corners and dig? ARE YOU FUCKING BLIND. THEY HAVE BEEN CYCLING THE PUCK IN THE CORNERS FOR 3 FUCKING YEARS. OFTEN TIMES THE ONLY FORM OF CONSISTENT PRESSURE FOR OUR TEAM.

can't shoot? you're a tard. every 2nd goal they score is usually a wicked snap or wrist shot. the sedins are the ONLY players on the canucks that can do the little chop shot that fires it straight into the corner.

if you're gonna criticize, at least know what you're talking about. don't you have a bandwagon to get on?

First off it was 4/10 powerplay goals including the o.t goal. Yes we didn't score 5 on 5 but calgary only got one goal 5 on 5 as well...

Just like everyone else in this thread I'm gonna call you an idiot too for calling the sedins "sisters" saying they don't go in corners.

What games have you been watching. Both sedins go into the corners check the oppososing players steal the puck cycle, and Carter goes to the front of the net. Not only that you can tell they are stronger on the puck, especially hendrik. You can see it in his faceoff's percentage.

to finish again your an idiot. go watch some hockey before posting about it.

I'll add a few to that list.

you missed a big one. One reason Canucks have been doing so bad is the turnovers.

5) no big turnovers. Example: Naslunds backpass to Ohlund resulting in Iginla scoring. Also Naslund, Bertuzzi and Morisson gotta do a better job defensively. They been bad the past couple of weeks.
6 More hitting and forechecking. Leads to penalties for the other team, also leads to team momentum. Your team can get alot of a few good hits especially if Naslund hits.
