He wasn't what he used to be but It was still a pleasure just to watch is magic on the ice even if it was only once in a while. Too show my respect to the greatest hockey playerto ever lace em up im wearing my Mario Jersey tonight thats for sure.

How many times has he retired now?

In all honesty, it's definitely his time to go. He has had a great career and there's no point in tarnishing it by turning into a washout.

Has anyone noticed how many NHL staples have retired mid-season? It goes to show how much the game has changed. The old guys just aren't able to keep up anymore.

I agree with what you say, the New NHL has passed the older players by, but the selfish part of a fan will miss Mario regardless if his talents weren't what they used to be. He still got 22 points in 26 games suffering with an irregular heartbeat since Sept so thats still amazing

I hope for his Sake he retires for good this time. Here's something else notice how two superstar players have retired with the penguins in this crappy crappy season for them lol. Palffy not the Magnificient one.

Messier. Hmm most likely Yzerman is done after this year too.
