plaza (granville) or atlantis for a big drum and bass show

if you were going to go check out a big drum and bass show where would you rahter go? the plaza (on granville) or atlantis? the plaza has the benefit of ins and outs for smoking, and it's a nice venue, but lets face it, atlantis is pretty pimp too. don't worry about sound, we've got that covered....

oh, and btw, there's a reason i ask...

Never been to Plaza for a DNB show so that would be pretty sweet. Seems bigger, i think, from the times i was there. The heads would probably like plaza because of in's and outs because i know there are a lot of smokers out there.

id say the plaza...its new, people would enjoy it. a good sounding space and ins and outs are definatly important for smoking.

cause alot of us do smoke when out at the shows.....

In and outs are also great for cooling down as well. I would rather smoke outside anyways at least i get some fresh air aside from the cigarettes lol

my boyfriend and i have been meaning too get out too a lot of the past shows, but neither of us have been too atlantis. there's a comfort in going somewhere you've already been, and plaza is also a little closer too home. but what would be really dope, is the show being somewhere in gastown!

I'm partial to the plaza (and possibly biased because damn, does david hawkes have nice shoes!) and I think that in general, their staff provides way better service than I've gotten at Atlantis...the only reason I have even gone to Atlantis lately is because of the fact that they've had so many shows go there, I'm pretty sick of that place for shows and I don't like the layout of the club.

plaza.although the shitty thing about plaza is that the dj boothe is so fucking high and the dancefloor isnt that big but atleast they allow ins&outs and the door men dont treat you like an inmate.

I just came from the middle of the dancefloor at the club, seems pretty damn big to me.

Speaking as a non-smoker, I prefer to have in&outs.

I like chilling out with the smokers and socialize, as well as cool off if it's hella packed. I know I spent a fair amount of time outside at !!!

They're not in a wad. :)

It's our unique main bar set up that tends to give that impression, I don't think any other clubs in the city have a main floating bar the size of ours.

2 levels 8000 square feet.

But I'm not too sure on the specifics of atlantis, other than a snazzy atrium.

I'd say the Plaza... I've been to Atlantis plenty of times.

One thing that the Plaza has that Atlantis doesn't is comfy, lounge seats and booths. And the staff at Plaza I find to be less pretentious.
