I was just checking out some of my holdings and never did pay much attention to Google as it was a company that I believe has no tangilble assets.

But their shares are $365US each.

$365!!!

For what?

here's where people will argue if the search engine and all it's sub programs (goooooogle ads, email, talk, maps, etc.) are considered to be tangible.

In my opinion they are.

last year was a good time to buy google. with the new things that are coming out and how they revolutionized the internet over the past year, its pretty awsome.

If I recall... it peaked at around 400...
When this started at 90 bucks a share, everyone knew it was low...
Lot of people cashed in!

they actually peaked at 475. when it was at its peak the company was worth as much as ibm. they only been in the market for aprox 2 years. i wish i bought at a cheap 100 a share.

Google is an advertising company who just happens to have a really good search engine. Google ad sense is their business model. They won't split their stock, they're to arrogant :)

Google is one company that I have put all of my trust in, every few months they release some new service or program that I end up using on a regular basis, be it recreational or for serious business. The latest service they've offered (for free of course) is google pages, its just like any other free homepage site, but I feel more inclined to work on my page since it will be a part of google. Heres my site, I just made it as a practice run.

Hey buddy, 365US is ALOT, but its considered cheap right now. Its dropped hella crazy last month, go stock up if ya go extra cashflow. It ll be over 400 again soon.

yea as he mentioned above it was at 475 beginning of january.. then the whole china debate + refusing to hand over search records to US government brought the stock down. + profit margins for the first quarter were lower than expected.

advertising company yes... hype after merging with SUN Systems is also a very large part of it.. Sun created open office... MS rules the office world with its MS Office.. so the thought of so many people using google on a daily basis, and the "rumour" of having an "online office" built into google, is deffinately a huge portion (and one small example) of why googles stock has reached such a high in the first place.

Google is pretty much THE search engine. The main browsers for Macs AND PCs have a Google search engine embedded within the program. I don't think there are any other search engines that have that, unless you download a plug in.
