Record stores??

hey i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which record stores to Check out in Van ive been to one or 2 but there wasnt really anything i liked.

im looking mainly for Funky house and funky breaks... and some battle records

- Boomtown as mentioned on Burrard Street
- And you have to hit up Beatstreet as well on West Hastings and Richards.

also check out remix on granville. A lot of newer pop-type stuff there... basically opened by the guy who used to do the ordering for the Virgin Megastore before they got bought out by HMV.

Zulu's got some good electroclash/disco punk if you're into that side of house, and a rather nice hip-hop selection, if you don't mind lack of previews on the most part and pretentious kits-like staff.

boomtown is on burrard and davies to be exact!! they have section for house.... Seemed pretty full in the house section

sweet.. I was totally thinking of Beatstreet, not Boomtown. I'm planning on making a trip to Boomtown as soon as I'm back in Van though.

Try to make a stop at Platinum Records in Seattle. It's often worth the drive. But, nothing beats shopping online.

Sherwood at Boomtown is really knowledgable with the hip hop, oldskool, funk and dancehall stuff so give him a shout if you have any questions.

If your ever in Victoria, you should for sure check out Lyles place on Yates St. Just because..it's Lyle's place.
