wal*mart dial-up

finding internet access in phoenix has been shockingly tough. the place my boss was staying at had wiring so old that it wouldn't support internet access. now i'm at a friends house out in the "country" (by country they mean open desert all cactus, jack rabbits, roadrunners and coyotes) they only have dial-up.
so i went to check my email for the first time in 3 months and noticed that their service provider is none other than Wal*mart.
i must say, they provide a terrible service. it's so slow i sometimes wonder if hooking my laptop to my cell phone would be faster and worth the money.
has anyone else used this antiquated service?

man, i passed a store that sold stuffed jackalopes but i didn't buy one.
next time.
i'll bet i could find one at the flea market down the street.
