Places to buy art?

I recently went in to El Kartel and they wereselling some of the art hanging on the wall. unfortunately when i went back everything was spoken for. I am wondering is there any place where I can order prints? I don't know mcuh about modern art or if it is modern art? Pictures with graphic images etc i could hang up in my living room?

There's a neat place on denman (@ nelsonish) that sells prints, but they are reproductions of more classical pieces (some goodies in there though!)

art schools. grad shows are coming up and the kids will be wanting to clean out the spaces. cap has a pretty amazing printmaking program. the carr has one too.

IKEA has some prints for cheap and there are places in the mall

Amsterdam sells thiere prints if I remember but I also remember them being well rather pricey

The Soho Cafe on Homer near davie.

its even a nice place to drink some beer, and play pool.

it always has great art on the walls........that are for sale!

there's some clothing stores/art exhibits round gastown and mainstreet that display local artists work which is usually for sale anyways. if you like what you seee talk too whoever is working there, i'm sure they can hook you up with the artist. they can probably even do something custom. at our place we have 3 pieces up by a local guy, i love his work we're waiting for these little sketches/graphs that he's doing for this one curved wall that we have it's going to be awesome. '
check out midtown on pender and richards i think it is. goonpack on cordova and abott. used on granville and robson. look in the papers for upcoming shows.

this weekend in tinseltown is the UBC art grad show. i've walked by a couple of times and it looks neat. i think it starts on the 13th and they have hourly shows in the evening 7ish.

i'm not sure if they are too techy but maybe you will like a couple of em.

i will keep my eyes open on da, but i won't have time to do a decent search til school's out. (a week)
i also have a bunch of stuff on my hard drive i could dig up that is likely good enough quality for you to print yourself at a decent repro shop.

you could print these, but only fairly small.
however, i personally think a series would look awesome in a bunch of small frames.

oh and you should try to see if you can find some sam flores prints,
i bet you would like his work.
