Laptop Confuisons...Help!

im in the market for a laptop. im a powermac user and i initally wanted to purchase a macbook pro but i have now changed my mind and am going over to PC

but im daunted by the amount of different brands on the market. I think i read somewhere that all laptops are basically made by acer and asus.

I'M leaning towards either a toshiba or a sony viao.

any thoughts ideas insights experinces to help???

oh, and it has to be ultra light! no 17" screens.

for the last 8 months ive been using a dell insprion 6000 but the bastard weighs a tonne and i dont care much for dell anymore

I know of a Toshiba m30 Geforce a friend is looking to get rid of, thing is band new without anything even touched on it. I upgraded it to SP2 myself :p

Complete with receipts. She's looking for a fair price to unload it before she travels next month.
