i walked outside tonight to lock some doors and found a 19 year old man lying on the ground against the cool grass because he had lit himself on fire while attempting to spin poi.

2nd and 3rd degree burns to his arms, legs and chest. a touch on his face too. Right now he is in the burn unit at VGH. he was shaking due to the pain. and probably the sight of the skin on his limbs peeling off.

don't play with flammable shit unless you know how!!

i saw some guy once try to spin poi... he was drunk as fuck, i might add.
i hit himself in the face.
at first i thought it was pretty funny... until i saw that his face was all bloody.

He is. i was only outside to lock up, and had i not gone out at that time he would have probably not gotten help for much longer as the guy who was calling 911 had no idea where he was.

As far as i know he is doing ok. CKNW is saying he is critical but going to survive.
