::HELP:: - MAC's + WEBCAM + MSN MESSANGER = CONFUSED

i have a power mac G5 and i installed messanger on it and im triin to get my cam working and i cant send of recieve anything!!!

give skype a try maybe? to see if its a msn problem (as so many things are) or a driver config problem

ive checked all my preferences and tried to see if sopmewhere th connection beteween the two was blocked or somthing and nothing??

can you go into webcam settings and see yourself? does it work in the options.....

mine did this and i figured out my firewall was blocking my web cam IP.......dunno if that could happen to you but its an idea

your using MSN messanger for the mac with a web cam? As far as I know its not possible on the Mac version unless your using a different client. I have version 5.1.1 what version are you running?

i just downloaded the version off msn.com

i figured it was not possible...kinda sucks cuz the cam is virtually pointless now.

with msn messenger for mac, you cannot use the camera function.

do you got an original iSight? how are they?

mine is built into my laptop, and its damn good.

It will work with other clients such as ichat, not that it helps you much.

If I were you I would look for other clients that use the msn network that might have incorporated video chat. I can't remember any names off hand but I do know they are out there. If I get some time I'll do some digging around for you.

check out this page, i'm not sure how good it is but they say it suports webcam on the msn network. The program is called aMSN, I'm sure there are others out there as well.

i dont know man besides the stuff i stated doesnt it do the same stuff as windows? plus it cost more. its good on viruses though.

MSN support for macs..... hah.... that's a funny one.

Keep in mind that about a year and a half ago MSN dropped all its Macintosh support. I think M$ even killed the Mac Office suite support as well. Now that Windows can be run on a mac machine don't expect them to scale that up any time in the future either.

Microsoft sucks enough at developing software for their own OS. Good luck getting them to do some decent development on one they don't own.
