Game 1 - Stanley Cup Finals

Wow. To be honest I can't stand edmonton. BUT since they're playing carolina, I gotta go for them. Carolina is not a hockey town and I hate that they're in the finals. When it's +30 degrees out and the fans are holding up signs that say "Redneck Hockey" it makes he hate them that much more.

But loosing a 3 goal lead wasn't the biggest story, Roloson.. done. for the rest of the playoffs. Shitty. And Edmonton showed the skill of their back-up in the last 30 seconds. I think that might be the nail in the coffin for the Oil.

But man, what about Cam Ward. What an unbelievable night for that guy. This is the goalie of the future, that last highlight save was Grant Fuhr/Patrick Roy'esc.

So.. at the end of the night.. have a lot of doubts about the Oilers. A lot of doubts.

Oh well, the world cup starts soon. :D

It's truly heartbreaking, and on such a shitty hit by his own defenseman. Bet they'd take the goal instead now. Both defenseman swept to the guy in the boards leaving whoeverthatwas with a path to the net, so Bergeron nails him into his goalie against the post. Blame Bergeron for gutting Edmonton's momentum [not that he meant to, but he did]. They were totally going to come back until that happened, and what a horrific goal to lose on. Why wasn't Jussi Markkanen on the bench? Ty is a Dan Cloutier: no good with any pressure, let alone tied in the 3rd period of a finals game.
This really pisses me off too because Carolina is not as good as they look. They shouldn't be in the finals. If Buffalo didn't have Numminen and Jay McKee out for game 7, they'd be there.

When, hockey gods, will you allow the cup to come back home?

That's pretty easy to call now. Edmonton lost the first two games in the San Jose series too. They're going home now; win both games and we've got a series. Lose one, and it's over.

No Carolina is a good team. They have a pretty talented team with Staal leading the way. They also have a captain who is playing as best as he's every played.

They are as good as they are. The only team better than them in my opinion in the east was ottawa. They won fair and square and they b een good all year.

Its like saying Tampa didn't deserve to be in the finals and win the cup last season. Give me a break. Go nuthug some more edmonton nuts.

i'm all for canada but i don't play down any team besides maybe calgary lol.

I didn't say they weren't good, I said they aren't as good as they look. They win based on their first three lines, which are all high flying. Their style of play just looks sloppy, though. Their defense is weak and they win by getting lucky. Every team they play gets crippled by injuries and they win on shitty goals (like the Ty one and scoring on several idiotic "delay of game" penalties). They have a pretty aggressive short-handed attack but aside from that they look stupid in their own end. Buffalo deserved it way more and I really wish they were the ones up 2-0. If anyone had to beat Edmonton, it should've been Buffalo.
