quitting!
i was working at a daycare that totally fucking sucked - i got punched, disrespected, rocks thrown at and numerous other things alongside not being told about specific childrens' problems that would have been neccessary, being demeaned in front of kids, and feeling awful for feeding kids nothing but poptarts and chocolate chocolate chip muffins for breakfast.
now im fucking out of there! it was awesome not getting up at 5 am this morning, awesome not being treated like shit - and i have worked with kids for a long time, these ones are just little fuckers. it feels good. even though im down to two jobs and im missin out on much needed money, i just couldnt fucking put up with that shit anymore. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

^ seriously, if you had witnessed this situation, you would have probably kicked down the owners door. at first, i thought the food was just bad for one week cause groceries had not been picked up, but no, it was shit food everyday.
that and they dont inform their employees of some childrens specail needs\situations. and we have one or rather they have one child who needs constant watching one on one, and they would leave me with a room of about 20 kids plus the one on oner. (hes a danger to others and himself and apparently me as well as i took punches for the kids *i cant believe i just said that*) they have staff with their SEA there, yet they put me in this situation. repeatedly. it was not ok. im not saying i didnt\couldnt handle it, but talking to me about the childs situation and possibly realizing that i dont neccessarily have the right tools to work with him might be a good idea. so many issues. and alot of the staff were saying that this was the best daycare they had worked for, makes me sad.

holy shit, thats fucked up. good job on getting out. staying in a situation and making it work is actually worse, bc no one does anything about changing it.
sure, they may just replace you with someone who's willing to settle for that garbage, but atleast your not contributing to that anymore. you should consider reporting them... I know rep for day cares goes a LONG way.
