What is fnk's view on ufo phenomena?
I was kinda bored browsing the web, when I came upon this site http://www.ufobc.ca/Sightings/sights2002.htm it had an old ufo sighting report that I had sent to one of western b.c's top ufo aficianado's, Brian Vyke, 4 years ago when I was 17. Since I've made that report, I've never seen anything quite like that again. allow me to share the mystery. 27-July-2002, Terrace: (12:25 am) HBCC UFO Hello there Brian Vike, I am a 17 year old Terrace youth, my name is (name deleted). Before I discuss the odd event, I must tell you a few things about myself – I’m an open minded artistic soul who has a strong belief in science and have always pondered how fantastic it would be if beings from other parts of our universe would pay earth a visit. Although I always believed there had to be other life out there, I was never truly convinced that they had made contact with earth and its inhabitants until 2 nights ago, when I saw one the most unbelievable, life changing things of my life. It was 12:25 am July 27 2002, when I discovered there was a moving light in the sky (southwest of Terrace - towards Prince Rupert at high elevation). At first I thought it was probably a plane because of the light movement. But as the object began moving further east and higher up into the sky (yet closer in view) I began to realize it was in fact a cigar /maybe pancake? shaped object with a flickering bright light moving around the side. I still wasn’t completely convinced until I noticed how eerily alien its maneuvers were. I am not a stupid person, that was not natural, not human technology, and unlike anything I had ever seen before. About 2 and half minutes after I had first seen it, it moved from a horizontal position to a diagonal position, but continued to slowly move in the sky frozen in the diagonal position. The light was still running up the side. Since I was walking home at the time on Lanfear road towards Lanfear Hill, I lost track of the object once I headed up the trail. But the last minute or so that I saw it, it began moving northwest, and its elevation began dropping, then I lost sight because trees on the trail obstructed my view. I would sincerely appreciate any feedback/advise to help me with this incredibly life changing experience. Thank you for your time, I hope you can make good use of this new information. Having a full bookshelf of books on UFOs from a kid, and still sadly being able to stand and give a ufology history lecture for probably a good 20 mins off the top of my head, I can pretty much tell you that besides being an interesting phenomena, there's never been any real proof. Just cool, creepy ideas.

ya i completely understand
not only did I have to see it to believe it, but I had to see it with other witnesses around so that I knew for sure it wasnt my own senses tricking me. im up north right now in Terrace visiting, where i had experienced these accounts. That explains why this stuff is on my mind.

you know.. I believe in other life being out there somewhere.. but why do we always assume they're a thousand years more advanced than us? What if we're more advanced than any other life that would even be close enough to travel here if they had the technology?

Like....why not go to SETI or something since that would be where most people would look onward for an official contact. Well, according to Dr. Steven Greer, it's already happened (scroll down to bottom of the page for the video) If someone here reading is unfamiliar with the credentials of the disclosure project, I urge them to check out the site: http://www.disclosureproject.org Here's a link to the video of the meeting that started it all. We are not alone, but the public is being kept in the dark, because for the public to know would be bad for business. Like seriously...how much money would we have extra if we didn't have to spend it on an energy/fuel bill for our homes and vehicles?

my parents have a video of some weird lights that they saw in thailand. i'll see if i can get my dad to put it up on here.
edit-they weren't like christmas lights or anything like that. they were moving around in the sky.

Now as far as disclosure is concerned, I doubt that it will come from America’s political establishment. But there are always other countries. There are always the aliens. The truth is already here; it’s simply waiting to land.
After all, what exactly are the secret keepers protecting? Let’s see. Power, wealth, control, their plans for the future, access to information, underground bases already built, the status quo. But there must be more. How about communication with aliens? Worm hole technology? Access to our genetic code? Or any number of technologies that we have not even begun to discuss openly in our society (for the most part, Sir Laurence Gardner is making a difference in that regard). Remember the statement of an Area 51 insider to aerospace journalist James Goodall – this was back in the 1980s – "we have things in the Nevada desert that would make George Lucas envious." In other words, Star Wars technology. Can you imagine the front page of the New York Times following a true disclosure of all this? "MASSIVE COVERUP EXPOSED." The biggest journalistic fiasco in history would finally be acknowledged, wholesale resignations would sweep the intelligence community, a political third party would do a clean sweep of Washington. Congress would promise emergency hearings, Arab oil nations would be in a state of collapse as oil price futures plummet, and the stock market would be in a headlong tailspin. People would realize that a massive power structure has existed for generations, and has siphoned away trillions of dollars. They would learn that it has played a dominant, though unacknowledged, role in shaping their lives. Think about NASA and the space shuttle program. There are no shortage of quiet discussions about the antiquated nature of NASA’s shuttle technology. Astronauts have died because better technology was denied to them. And that is merely the tip of the iceberg, for this issue goes far beyond NASA. No, people wouldn’t be pleased or especially understanding. Heads would roll. The American system of government, as it has come to exist, and by extension American society, and by extension our current global civilization, is not compatible with true UFO disclosure. Disclosure would rip it all away. You might argue that this would be a good reason to maintain the secrecy. On the other hand, I would argue it’s the best reason for disclosure. As bad as things look today, I retain hope for a post-disclosure world. I retain a faith – yes, I guess it’s faith – in the value of truth over all things. A statement by my favorite writer, Leo Tolstoy, hangs before me every day: "the one thing necessary, in life as in art, is to tell the truth." I cannot believe that a society based on a foundational lie can be better than one based on a foundational truth. When the Soviet Union came to an end, people adjusted to face new problems, but also new opportunities. We would have to do the same. Following the sense of betrayal, following the frenzy of revelations, following the planetary chain reaction of scrutiny and exposure, we might just awaken to a new world one fine morning. A world in which the lies have been scrubbed away, and in which new truths are shining everywhere.

Bored on a hot balmy summer day like today? STEPS FOR FUN:
Equipment you will need: - 2 pieces of wood, kindling-sized but about 2-3' long. - Nails & Hammer - 6 candles. - 1 clear plastic dry cleaning bag, even better if it has pictures of people on it. 1) Make a cross out of the two pieces of wood using a nail 2) Melt candles onto the cross so that they're all standing up. 3) Nail the bottom edge of the dry cleaning bag to the cross. 4) Take contraption to large hill/ridge upwind from major city at night 5) Light candles, let the wind take your contraption away and watch it fly off 6 ) Check the next day's local paper for any nutjob claiming to have seen aliens. Especially killer if they get a video recording.
