so its my girlfriends birthday tomorrow..........we were thinkin of hittin up plaza.

i had a good friend tell me it sucks........other people say its great. any thoughts????

it's a nice big club. cubed is the promotions manager there. according to his sig, wednesdays are "hollaback wednesdays"... hip hop and reggae with flipout and j-swing

I love Plaza Club. :) Only been there a few times, but have always had a good time and the bartenders are great there.
From what I can remember they've got a pretty good sound system, and I love how the bar is set up.

nobody but thugs end up at brukout wednesdays, it's sad what that night has turned into.

that place was half decent about two years ago.

The shows there have gotten immensely better since David Hawkes took over.

About half the good rock, hip hop and EDM shows I've been to in the last year have been there.

what night are you at? i've never seen "thugs" there. unless you consider all black people thugs. but the crew there is really chill imo

The plaza is a nice club and the drink specials are wicked. Plus you are gonna get hooked up with free entry and some shooters.
What are your friends like that are going? They into top 40 and the beat? If so go to plaza. Plaza has that music but not a meat headish atmosphere. It's the club I go to when I have the "hang out with old high school friends that are still lame and into top 40 nights" because it is chill and $2 highballs.

If you are going with an electronic crew come to DJ Quest at Cyber. Uberzone was packed; Quest will be good and maybe we can ask Steve for a b-day ticket.

Plus If oyu want, I will get some people out to either thing you deside to go to which will make the atmosphere a lot more chill; more familiar faces.

im not too familiar with other music nights they might have there?
Might be ok with a different crowd...but I dont know, my impression of the Plaza wasn't so great.. I saw Pinback there not too long ago...too much elite scene served with a side of rigid synchronized hair flips there for me. The band even commented on the unmoving converse mass...it was pretty pathetic.
However!... I did like the way it's set up though,
seems very chill if you just wanna hang out and have some drinks

JAYYYYYY i love you! i've been really horrible lately about returning calls, i'm doing like 70 hour weeks right now between work and school. haha, my ideal night would be brukout wednesdays, everyone i'm going with is hiphop, top 40, especially the birthday girl(who of course is the most important of all)!

kylee, you're such a great friend. i'm gonna give you a shout today. we're heading in around 3ish so i'll call when i get downtown! i really want to see you. so if you're busy tonight we can meet up before and smoke one or something(haha, or something, lol, yeah we'll smoke a joint)!

over the past 2 years, that crowd has done a complete 180.

gone are the party loving rastas, fully replaced with the wanna be thug FOBs.

I haven't been to brukout in ages, but I have a hard time believing there would be a noticeable difference between the crowd at Plaza club and the crowd at Shine tonight.

Maybe I should research this hypothesis :)

If the crowd at the show was bad, that has a lot more to do with the band then the club.

vinroc at brukout like maybe 3 decembers ago was one of the best shows i've ever been to. good times.
