when i was in london i actually took a map and hunted down banksy pieces

here's what i found

a couple of these got buffed....the one at the eiffel tower is pretty much unoticeable now, but it's another "this is not a photo opportunity" one

I had never heard of bansky when I was living in london in 2000, so I never thought to hunt down his work, thx for all those pics!

I must admit im a huge fan, and his piece on the Israel Aprtheid wall of the little girl being lifted over the wall with balloons is my favorite.

Im not too keen on the paris cd, in the end, it brings more attention that will in turn into more $$$ for her, and reactionary opinion, but it is good for a good laugh, and Im impressed in how he was able to inflitrate!

i found his book in a store in amsterdam and it's awesome.....so many good photos and illustrations....and the stuff he writes is really cool too....like almost getting caught spray painting shit in the zoo....and just little anecdotes about a lot of his pieces

holy fuck, when i looked 2 or so days ago it was at 800. Now it's at 2,500, insane. I'd love to get a copy of this but i'd never pay that much.

I don't see how this stunt brings more attention towards an already over-inflated icon. It's more about commandeering a piece of commercial property to make a cultural statement.

If anything some clueless 14 year old could wonder what this all means and fire up google to bring a whole new perspective to their eyes. That's what punk music did to me when i was 14.

This will be providing some publicity for Paris.....but she really doesnt need any, so this is mostly making Banksy more famous to the world, and the people who didnt know about him before.

Whenever the story is printed, the questions of "Why Am I Famous" and "What Have I Done" will be linked to her name. Hopefully people will start asking themselves those.
I wouldn't think the South Park "Whore-Off" episode really helped Paris' image either.
