Your bad poker beats

This was inspired by another thread, where I read that Harp lost with pocket aces to the statistically worst hand in Holdem.

My worst beat that I can remember, I had pocket cowboys, slow played them (made small raise before the flop), and got the absolute best flop you could get: K K A. For the most part, that is an unbeatable four of a kind. I made a big raise, and got called. Next card was junk; 7. Made a BIGGER raise, and got reraised. I went all-in, and got called.

He had pocket aces, so he had a full house, I have four kings. Statisically, I'm about a 90% favourite to win the pot, since all he has is one card in the deck that can win in for him.

The river comes up A. I lose.

This was in a home tournament game. We were the last two people left. He had a small chip lead. We played a winner-takes-all tournament. I lost out $150.

Before I moved to Vancouver, me and a bunch of buddies played poker at least twice a week. I'm sure some of us would've been defined as "problem gamblers". My one buddy came up with the best quote though: "It's not a gambling problem when you keep winning." I rarely won big, almost never lost, and broke even lots of times, so I don't think I would've called myself a problem gambler.

while reading your story i thought to myself why would u call that a bad beat when in the casino you losing would be good cause of the bad beat jackpot. Yeah bad beats suck ass. You know of my aces getting beat, but my buddy had a very bad beat himself. Flop come J J K, he bets about $65 one guy goes all in another calls all in and my buddies loving this re raise. He calls both players all in knowing he has the nuts which in fact he does Kings full of Jacks. Turn comes 9 river 9. one guy got was holding pocket 9's. Lets just say my buddy was very pissed off and he was going on tilt

My worst ever....

I have KK, raise pre flop, some guy re raises, I go all in and he calls with QQ
Flop comes and its a King with 2 junk cards, like 8 and 4 or something... So hes got no flush or straight draw, and statisticly Im like 99% to win.
Sure enough Q comes on the turn and another Q on the river. I couldnt believe it. The worst part is is that it resulted in me coming 4th and not winning any money. Right after that I withdrew all my money that I had and it was the last hand I ever played, and will play, on tigergaming.net

Ive had some pretty brutal beats but i dont like telling or talking about bad beat stories.

My friend Richard was chip leader in the BC Poker championships this year with not many left like 30 or something, anyway flopped two pair with 10 9, top two guy went all in with AK as a bluff and hit running two pair to win ..siiiickkk pretty much a half a million dollar beat if he didnt lose that pot.

My worst is kinda funny. I was rocking an Ace high straight off the flop. 10d, Qd, and Kd on the table, and I had a Jc and As in my pocket. I had bet pre-flop. It was a small raise so I made another small raise after the flop so they'd think I was bluffing or chasing. Everyone's in.. turn comes up and it's a junk card, I can't remember what it was. I bet large and everyone folds but my one friend. He calls and we see the river. It's another junk card.. I think it was a deuce. I check, and he tries to throw in two chips. I have to explain to him yet again what minimum bet means, so by this point I'm pretty sure I've got him. He seems to be just throwing chips in for the hell of it. I call and push all-in. He calls and throws his cards down and says "oh well, I guess I get an early smoke break." As he gets up I look down at his hand to see a Jd and Ad.

He had no idea that he had the winning hand (or any hand at all), he just said he thought he had to keep betting.

He's saying that the guy had pocket rockets, then flopped another Ace to make trips, and then hit his fourth ace on the river.

These are great stories. Rustybob, you were way more than a 90% favorite to win that hand :P
