Gears of War Passes 2 Million Sold, 1 Million in U.S.
That's 2 million people sawing Locust Hordes in half around the globe. These gears clearly don't need any greasing, as the War machine keeps turning. Gears of War is now the fastest selling Xbox title ever. More within... With more than two million copies sold since its release six weeks ago, Microsoft Game Studios' and Epic Games' blockbuster shooter Gears of War has become the fastest selling next-gen game of 2006 and the fastest selling Xbox game ever. Gears of War has also been a primary driver for Xbox Live over the past several weeks. One report from Sandvine Incorporated that Xbox Live traffic increased as much as 80 percent among North American Xbox 360 users following the release of Gears. Today Microsoft noted that there have been more than one million unique gamers engaging in 10 million online gameplay sessions and unlocking 7 million achievements in Gears. The game has also brought in new members to the Xbox Live network; Microsoft claims that paid registrations per day have increased more than 50 percent since the game's launch. "Gears of War clearly has won the battle for the title of the must-have game of the year," boasted Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of global marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Corp. "Its phenomenal success is one of many reasons why Xbox 360 is the ultimate place to get together with friends to play this holiday." "We've always held high hopes for Gears of War, but we never expected such an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and gamers all over the world," added Michael Capps, president, Epic Games. "I can't describe how stoked our team is right now. Our fans can absolutely count on Epic to keep delivering new gameplay through Xbox Live."

I really enjoyed the single player..played through the whole game on live co-op.
Unfortunately I beat it in like one sitting ;(. Was worth it though, purty graphics and what not. The multiplayer is fun but rainbow 6 vegas multiplayer just has soooooo much more depth and puts gears of war to shame 4 me :(
