RAM..Well..depends. Until I get a cooling system in place I'm not going to go nuts on ram. Kingston is good ram because of it's lifetime warranty and it's general reliabililty. If you are looking for something more, OCZ Gold or Platinum I have seen work really well and provided a couple of my friends with no hassles at all. Samsung is also reliable but nothing performance like OCZ. That's my two cents:) Last edited by Capt.AA; Nov 16, 06 at 01:20 PM. |

Nice setup so far. As for the people shouting AMD. The Intel Core 2 Duo is now the world's best gaming processor so he made a good choice. I would go with the E6600 if they have it though. As for memory, take a look at Corsair's Twinx Matched Memory Pairs (great for dual channel). If you can get them. Or if you want to spend less just look for Corsair value ram. They should still be dual channel.

Bad move on the AMD processor but it's your comp!

Info on Intel Quad-Core CPUs:

Not really. How long have the AMD dual cores been on the market? Intel finally beat AMD. So I will give it probably 6 or 7 months before AMD has the quadcore title. |

We just bought a Core 2 Duo test machine at work and it's awesome.
Here's an article on tomshardware that might help you with your decision: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/07/...e_2_duo_today/ Quote:
