Rock Band

Let me just say, I havent played guitar hero cause i think its boarderline retarded.
But I used to drum a lot and i've been looking at videos about how accurate the drum kit is in Rock Band and way back when I used to drum along with most of the tracks from Rock Band on my bro's v-drums. It's pretty damn accurate.
Now wanting to get back into the swing of things, I think Rock Band will get me back up to the way I used to play.
It's unfortunate that the drum kit doesnt have some sort of Double Kick Feature nor does it have a hi-hat.
Maybe in the future if they start releasing some Pantera and COF type tracks.

Anyways, I know Ninjaboy and Jim will look at this. As soon as it comes out in Canada.. I'm picking this up!

As for your question about the actual drums.

When the skill level is set to expert, the drum pattrens are the generally same (-minus missing drum pieces) as the actual song. So in theory it would help.

i'll be getting the ps2 version i think. not sure if my 3rd party guitar is cross platform, but its got a USB input (we couldn't get it to work on ps3 this weekend at kam's though).

For the PS3, only rock band guitars work. It's weird.

For the 360, any of the previous guitars that work on the 360 will work.

But the rock band guitars won't work on guitar hero.
