Which is a good one to go with. How do you use it. Pros/cons.

Usenet is like an e-mail list but instead of it being delivered to your inbox, you go to it like a website. You need access to a usenet server (there are many public ones) and a newsreader. Most e-mail programs double as usenet programs (except outlook), but if you're looking for file transfers you probably need one that's designed for transfers. newsgroups usually limit filesizes so the information you download off them is usually coming from multiple postings. You'll need a program that'll chunk them all together (and decrypt them as they're usually encrypted)

if you are looking to download of a news group use a program called Newsbin Pro.

It just searches through newsgroups for files.

Very easy to use, very fast. Just great all around.

It's still pretty commonly used, particularly for p2p.

Yup, being able to download files before they hit most of the torrent sites a faster download rates is so played out.

not so sure if newsgroups are as popular for warez and other releases as they used to be now that torrents are so popular. transfers through torrents are much faster than through newsgroups, and to ebbomega: i thought newsgroups were hosted on servers, not p2p?
