Screen Writers Guild strike may be over!!!

I heard about this last friday.

Read the announcements, last night.

Heard more positive things, on-set, today.

This could possibly be amazing timing!!! It just might give me 2-3 weeks off to ride my board before I jump back onto "Smallville"!

I could _really_ use that!

Any clue if we're going to see a disruption in the programming schedule, now that Feb. sweeps are starting to kick up?

Basically I wanna know if Lost is gonna have a hiatus this season...

The final straw was when American stations had to start buying Canadian shows to fill prime time slots. At that point US execs looked at each other and wondered "My God... what have we become?!?"

Too little too late for me.... when my show shut down over the strike I sought out other work. I got lucky and was offered a position as a lead wall panel designer for a great company and I just couldn't say no. The strike actually gave me my ticket out!

I'm sure many others weren't as lucky though.

Update:
Got a feature offer, today.
Checked w/ my boss from "Smallville", and there is no definitive plan of action, there. Many scenarios are being considered. So, she advised me to go ahead and take the feature gig.

Chris Columbus is directing, so, I'm hoping the show's going to have some calibre to it.

This is going to give me 3 weeks off, and I just got an email from my uncle in Kelowna saying I could stay there if I wanted to do Big White.

!!!!

This could just work out, brilliantly!

Oh. And, as for the writers' strike?
I'm hearing, on-set, that the deal is expected to get ratified on Sat.

Update2:
Got called back to "S/v". They're doing 5 more episodes to finish 7th season.
Prep early march through to end May.

I won't be there.

Commited to a feature while "S/v" was in flux due to strike.

except two or three months from now the screen actors guild is probably going to strike.

^SAG contract ends 30/06, so, yeah, there's the potential for a strike.

However, some A-list heavy-weights are pushing for early negotiations in order to avoid a strike.

Having SWG agreement in place is generally expected to grease the way to a new SAG contract.

We'll see...

As for new episodes coming, don't expect to see them anytime soon, most will be aired in the fall season.

Right now I'm finishing up on a feature, then have a pilot then another feature. It's gonna be a busy next few months.
